The image conveys a profound sense of helplessness. Mexican journalist Francisco Alejandro Leyva Aguilar was eating on the street, at a quesadilla and taco stall set up on the pavement, when gunmen on a motorcycle shot him dead. His body remained in the chair, slumped forward, with his head resting on the table. He was wearing sweatpants, a T-shirt and trainers, the kind of clothes people wear at home, nothing formal, the sort of outfit one throws on to run a quick errand and return moments later.
