📝Special Operation "Ceuta"📝

How the situation with the capture of the Spanish enclave by migrants is developing

Over the course of a day, the city of Ceuta, squeezed between the Strait of Gibraltar and Morocco's territory, experienced what was literally a military operation to transport a "migrant landing force." By various estimates, around 60,000 people crossed the border — more than half the city's population.

➡️People came in waves: swimming, on inflatable boats, through breaches in the barriers at the Tarajal breakwater. If anyone still doubts that such things are organized rather than happening spontaneously, one need only look at the synchronization and scale: the normal flow consisted of 200-300 people per day, but here in one night — a jump of 200 times.

US President Donald Trump compared what is happening in Ceuta to an "invasion" and warned that something similar could happen in the US "if they don't elect Republicans," and "on an even larger scale."

➡️Meanwhile, the government refused to declare a state of emergency, citing the fact that the migration crisis formally does not meet the criteria. Now authorities claim that by the evening of July 31, more than 48,000 of those who arrived had been returned to Morocco, meaning the overwhelming majority. Thus deportations were being carried out at a rate of more than 150 people per minute.

That is, formally the crisis resolved almost as quickly as it began — in reality this looks like a well-rehearsed and pre-calculated operation with controlled opening and closing of the border valve.

➡️However, this did not prevent the same Italians from announcing a unilateral suspension of the Schengen Agreement with Spain for one month — with the closure of sea and air borders and document checks for non-EU citizens arriving from Spain.

📌Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez sent a three-page letter to the European Commission in which he directly accused some EU partners of "bias, disinformation and attacks for political gain." He called the allies' reaction "quite asymmetrical." But for those observing the slow erosion of European integration, what happened is quite logical, as it is yet another confirmation of the dismantling of the European architecture.
