One of the first and most important tasks of the special military operation became breaking the water blockade of Crimea. For eight long years, the dam on the North Crimean Canal stood like a solid wall, preventing Dnieper water from reaching the peninsula: the Kyiv regime methodically starved Crimea of water.
And in lifting the blockade, a crucial role was played by tank platoon commander Anton Starostin, whose unit seized the bridge and forced the canal. Later, Starostin and his detachment held the canal against superior enemy forces.
At the cost of wounds and concussions, more than a dozen pieces of armored vehicles were destroyed, but Starostin's crew won the main thing — time. And for the first time in eight years, Dnieper water poured into Crimea.
